For previous blog postings on some of my work in Afghanistan, see this website.
I have worked intermittently in Afghanistan since 2008. In 2008-2009, I focused on the issue of compensation for civilian casualties and co-authored a report on this topic. The report was well-received and presented to a number of high-ranking US politicians and military officials. I worked closely with my good friend Erica Gaston on this issue (and we wrote the report together).
I also continue to work for the Afghan NGO, HRRAC. I assist the wonderful team at HRRAC to produce a range of reports on important issues facing Afghans. The director, Jamila Omar, is an extremely impressive and brave woman who deserves much praise and credit.
